Is the MRI Report in English?

Most public hospitals in China issue MRI reports in Chinese. Some international clinics or VIP departments may offer English-language support, but this should not be assumed.

Foreign patients should be prepared to translate the report or ask for medical interpretation support.

Can I Speak to a Doctor After the MRI?

Yes, but it usually needs to be arranged. Getting the MRI report is not the same as receiving a full specialist explanation.

For foreign patients, the best process is often:

1. Book a specialist consultation
2. Doctor requests MRI if needed
3. Complete the MRI scan
4. Collect images and written report
5. Return to the specialist for explanation and next steps

Why the Report Alone May Not Be Enough

MRI results should be understood together with symptoms, medical history, physical examination and other tests. A written report may describe imaging findings, but it may not answer the practical question: what should I do next?

This is why many foreign patients combine MRI with a specialist consultation or second medical opinion.

Can I Take My MRI Results Back to Europe?

Yes. Patients should ask how to obtain both the written report and the original image files. If possible, ask the hospital whether images can be downloaded, copied to a disc or accessed through a digital system.

Before leaving the hospital, make sure you have:
