A step-by-step photo guide from the arrival hall to the e-hailing pickup area.
If you arrive at Beijing Capital International Airport and want to take Didi or another ride-hailing car, you cannot simply wait anywhere outside the arrival hall. The airport has designated e-hailing pickup areas. This guide shows the real walking route from the arrival area to the Didi pickup zone.
After you collect your luggage and exit the arrival area, walk into the public arrival hall. Do not order your Didi too early. First, follow the airport transportation signs.
You will see signs for domestic arrivals, parking, subway, local buses, intercity buses, taxis and shuttle buses. For Didi, look for the direction marked E-Hailing or 网约车.
If you are not sure where to go, show airport staff the Chinese words: 网约车上车点, which means ride-hailing pickup point.
Follow the signs to go down by escalator or elevator. The airport signs usually show taxi, bus, parking and e-hailing directions together. Keep following the e-hailing signs.
When you reach the e-hailing zone, open your Didi app and check the pickup point shown in the app. The airport may divide pickup areas into different zones, such as Zone H or other marked areas. Always confirm the exact zone before calling or messaging your driver.
Before entering the car, check:
Do not get into a random car offering rides at the airport. Use the ride-hailing app or the official taxi area.
I also filmed the walking route from the arrival area toward the Didi pickup area. Watching the video before your trip can make the airport much easier to understand.
